Nation’ Website beats six others to take first prize(Sunday Standard -27th Nov)

The Nation Media Group has been honoured by the Public Relations Society of Kenya for the best corporate website.

The website, www.nationmedia.com, was rated the best among six entrants for the awards, sponsored by Africanonline, at the society’s fifth gala night on Friday. The second award went to the East African Breweries website – www.eabl.com – which was submitted by 3 Mice Interactive Media.

Meanwhile, Nation Media management trainee Fredrick Gori won the award for the young public relations professional. Public relations agency Gina Din Corporate Communications won the first and third awards for PR campaigns and was named the overall winners. Their entries, entitled Pink Ribbon and Matatu Poa, were submitted on behalf of Safaricom mobile phone company.

Apex Communications took the second award for their campaign on health conducted for Planning and National Development ministry while Lowe ScanAd PR firm took the fourth position.

The gala night was held at the Panari Sky Centre Hotel, Nairobi and was attended by corporate executives, PR and marketing officials from both public and private organizations. The public relations society brings together public relations professionals to promote the sector by sharing information.

The awards are open to business enterprises, PR agencies, associations, private institutions, government bodies, students and individuals.
